NOOK Color eReader

You’ll easily get hooked on your NOOK Color eReader.  To be quite honest, I was all set to purchase a Kindle, but the NOOK’s color screen feature did it for me.  I couldn’t imagine reading magazines and recipes without color.  Furthermore, with two young kids, it is the perfect way to “carry” multiple children’s books in vivid color.  There is even a read-to-me feature.  At $249, Barnes & Noble’s NOOK Color eReader is well worth the price.  An added bonus is that you can can check your email as well.  Not too shabby for an eReader!  Pick up a NOOK Color today and enjoy many hours of pure reading pleasure with your family.

Baby Einstein Eco Table Topper

Okay, I admit it… I’m a closet germaphobe.  If you are like me and cringe when your kids eat and even lick food after it falls on tables in public places, then these handy disposable place mats by Baby Einstein are for you!   In addition to being handy, these place mats display letters, shapes, colors, rhymes, and numbers, so your children can learn while they eat.  It’s a win, win.  These plastic table toppers are also biodegradable, which is a plus for this green mommy.   The cost for the Baby Einstein Eco Table Topper is $19  for a pack of 45.  Check out Target online or other online retailers for this year-round mommy must-have.

PlasmaCar

Goodbye Big Wheels (though my daughter still has a pink one)…..Hello, PlasmaCar!  My son received a plasmacar, compliments of his Aunt Lisa and Uncle Malik (Azeem), for his birthday, and it has been a big hit!  Imagine this: no pedals or batteries, yet you can go up to 6 miles per hour on a flat surface by just turning the steering wheel back and forth.  No wonder this toy has received numerous awards.  It can even support up to 220 pounds on a flat surface–lucky for me because my husband jumped on it and started riding it as if he was one of the kids.  It is modestly priced at $48-$69, and that’s a steal for the amount of entertainment your kids will get.
Caution: It is not recommended for use on wood or laminate floors.

Kalencom-Potette

Potette-Plus-2-in-1-Portable-Potty-TrainerIf you have a little one who has to pee frequently and you can’t stand the thought of your child going to a public restroom at a gas station…yuk…, a portable potty is the answer.  I stash it right on the floor in front of my daughter’s car seat, and it’s her perfect throne.  It comes in especially handy on long trips. You can either bring the potty that you have at home or purchase a travel potty and line it with biodegradable potty liners that you can get at Babies R Us. My favorite brand is Kalencom-Potette. At Walmart.com you can get the bundle that includes the potty and a pack of 30 liners for about $25.

Williams-Sonoma Cupcake Carrier

Well, it’s that time of year when I go into a baking frenzy.  It starts with Valentine’s Day and continues until September, the month of my nephew’s birthday.  “The Cupcake Lady,” as I have been called, has just purchased a new gadget to make life easier.  This mom’s find hails from Williams-Sonoma.  This three tier carrier is perfect for transporting up to 36 cupcakes.  Why perfect your icing skills only to arrive with a smushed version of your perfect creation?  If you’re not the baking type, it is the perfect gift for the baker in your life.
