Is Justin Beiber A Baby Daddy?

Okay, I’m not totally buying this story about the Beiber and his groupie, but it does make for some good celebrity gossip. Recently, pop star Justin Beiber was accused by a 20 year old fan, Mariah Yeater, of fathering a child. When I first heard the rumor, I chuckled. Imagine the boy next door being accused of getting a fan pregnant backstage in “a 30 second fling!” It seems far-fetched, but The Beiber showed up last week on NBC‘s Today Show to deny the allegations and has since hired crisis management bigwig Matheew Hiltzik of Hiltzik Strategies. I’m starting to think there is truth to this tale. Yes, it could be that the Beiber is outraged by the accusation and that he wants to send a strong message to future potential accusers, but his actions sure gave the story some legs. I’m no fan of The Beiber, but if he is innocent, I would feel sorry for him. I hope that Selena is giving him her shoulder to cry on and that the paternity test comes back negative.

Breaking News: Conrad Murphy Found Guilty of Manslaughter

After about nine hours of deliberation, jurors found Dr. Conrad Murphy guilty of involuntary manslaughter for the death of The King of Pop, Michael Jackson. MJ’s family and fans now have some closure. On November 29th, a judge will have to decide whether to sentence Dr. Murphy to probation or the maximum of 4 years in prison. Murphy’s medical license might also be revoked. Murphy maintains his innocence, claiming that MJ took his own life by administering the lethal dose of propofol himself. Let’s hope that Dr. Murphy will never be able to practice medicine again and that other medical professionals who cater to stars have learned a valuable lesson from this tragedy. R.I.P. MJ!

More Laughable Lohan Drama

Aren’t you sick of hearing about The Lohans’ drama. Two weeks ago, Michael Lohan literally landed into more trouble only 12 hours after being bailed out of jail in Florida for attacking his on-off girlfriend Kate Major. Michael was warned to have no contact with Kate, but he placed a phone call shortly after being paroled. In a sad attempt to escape from the police, Michael jumped from the 3-story balcony of his hotel. He didn’t exactly land on his feet. Actually, he plummeted into a tree.

Now this week, Lindsay was set to serve her 30-day sentence for a parole violation. But the starlet only spent 5 hours at the L.A. county jail due to overcrowding. Lindsay will serve the remainder of her 480 hours of community service cleaning the bathroom at the county morgue. I guess it’s only a matter of time before Lindsay runs out of luck and ends up just like her dear old dad. Four lives left, Lindsay. Why not stop now?

Breaking News: Kim K. Files For Divorce

Yes, it’s official! Kim K. has filed for divorce from her husband Kris Humphries. The reality star cites irreconcilable differences as the cause. After only 72 days of wedded un-bliss, this has come as a shock to Kim K.’s fan. Even I gave this marriage at least a year or two. I don’t know what happened, but Humphries and Kim K. were never an ideal couple. At least Kim didn’t pay for the elaborate nuptials. E! News and other companies paid handsomely for exclusive photos and coverage of the reality, not-so-dreamy wedding. That should take some of the sting out of the divorce for the Kardashian clan. Not to mention, the prenup will also protect Kim’s assets. Poor Kris! He should have seen this coming.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy: Is This His Last Dance on DWTS?

On Monday, tension rose on the set of Dancing with the Stars when senior judge Len Goodman harshly criticized Maks Chmerkovskiy’s partner, Hope Solo, calling her performance her “worst dance.” Maks immediately lashed out at Len and defended Hope. He accused the judges of playing favorites. Maks even went a step a further and told Len, who defended himself by saying that he has 50 years in the industry, that maybe it’s time for Len to get out.

Though Maks refuses to back down or apologize for his outburst, other members of the cast have openly criticized him. Derek Hough, who has always been paired with the cream of the crop, was the first to speak out, calling the judges generous. Well, I guess if you always get good partners and great scores, you would see it that way. More power to you, Maks, for saying what we all feel about this soon-to-be-washed-up DTWS. My advice to Maks and the other dance professionals is to open your rolodexes and start looking for some new gigs. DTWS, your star is fading!

Christina’s Not So Shining Moment

Christina Aguilera had a rockin’ performance at the Michael Jackson Tribute Concert in Wales this week, but more attention was given to her recent weight gain than to her booming voice. While I admire Christina for being proud of her body, I have to side with her critics and ask,”What were you thinking, girl?” It’s okay as a performer to show some skin and have sex appeal on stage, no matter your size, but you should be tasteful. Christina is used to performing in cutting-edge outfits to show off her curves, but I think that it is time to cover up a little. From the played out 80′s frizzy rocker hair to the lace tights to the leather bodice, Christina was screaming “Hot Mess!” Luckily, Aguilera did change into a more elegant and figure-flattering outfit for her second performance. Thank God! She saved my eyes from crusting and falling out of my head. I love you Christina, but your first outfit was almost as bad as Nicki Minaj’s at this year’s MTV Music Awards. Time for a new stylist, girl!

Michael Jackson Manslaughter Trial

Week two of the Michael Jackson murder trial is almost complete, and we are just as divided today about who is to blame for the tragic death of the King of Pop as we were when MJ died on June 25, 2009. While some believe that MJ’s doctor, Dr. Conrad Murphy, a 53 year old cardiologist, is responsible for MJ’s death, others argue that it was MJ’s own addiction that caused his death. A huge fan of MJ, I too would love to have Dr. Murphy held accountable for Micheal’s death. After all, it seems more than likely that Dr. Murphy administered the lethal dosage of propofol, directly contributing to MJ’s death. But a part of me realizes that if it hadn’t been Dr. Murray that day, it would have been some other doctor that MJ would have gotten the drugs from. MJ was an addict, and that is something that many fans are not willing to admit. And let’s face it, addicts will always find some way to get their fix. So though Dr. Murray should have known better than to administer propofol and Larazapam like candy and should certainly not have attempted to cover up the timeline leading up to MJ’s death, Dr. Murray alone should not shoulder the blame. Three more weeks of testimony are left, and I’m sure it will be filled with drama and hysteria. In the end, I hope that Dr. Murphy is held accountable for his criminal negligence, but manslaughter is a stretch. I think MJ, whose heart was filled of kindness and generosity, would agree. R.I.P. MJ. Your life and your music will continue to inspire people all around the world.

When the queen of talk, Oprah Winfrey, stepped down, I wondered what would happen to the talk show era. Yes, we have tell-it-like-it-is Dr. Phil, but there still seemed to be something missing from the traditional daytime talk. It was the the ability to connect to an audience, not in a preachy way, but with compassion. When I heard the announcement that Anderson Cooper, the celebrated CNN journalist, was embarking on a talk show career, I was ecstatic. Anderson has a tremendous passion for reporting and asking the deep questions that you want answered. He is raw but not confrontational. He has been dedicated to issues such as bullying and human suffering, even beyond the demands of his profession. Anderson has empathy for people in need, determination to make a difference, and a sense of responsibility.

On Friday, I had the opportunity to attend a taping of Anderson’s new talk show Anderson. My sister, my mom, and I were so excited to be a part of the audience and to catch a glimpse of the silver-haired fox in action. Not even my severe soar throat held me back. The show that we attended was about domestic violence, a topic that resonates with us at 3GB. Anderson’s guests shared their inspirational survival stories. It was quite moving. I encourage you to check out your local listings to see when this episode will be airing and keep tuning into Anderson.

The Emmy Awards: The ZGirl’s F.A.B. and D.R.A.B. List

I love to tune into the Emmy Awards to checkout my favorite celebrities. As I watched the awards with my mom, we got caught up in the fashion as much as the announcement of the winners. The 2011 Emmys didn’t disappoint. We observed some gowns that we wished we owned and others that we wished nobody owned. Let’s checkout the top five dresses that made the ZGirl’s F.A.B. List and the five that earned a place on the D.R.A.B. List.

F.A.B.

Evan Rachel Wood, without a doubt, stole the show! She looked stunning in her Elie Saab black, glittery gown with a long train. She had the perfect number of accessories; they didn’t take too much attention away from her beauty and the dress. Evan’s makeup looked great, and her hair matched the retro Hollywood Glam style perfectly. Get it, girl!

Sofia Vergana looked gorgeous in her red one-shouldered Vera Wang gown. Her draped goddess dress highlighted her curves. The Modern Family star topped it off with blingin’ earrings!

Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev rocked a red strapless Donna Karan gown with a skirt that folds at the end. Her silver choker and clutch bag worked with the dress and her side-swept hair. She looked young and fresh.

Glee star Dianna Agron looked Red Carpet-worthy in her silky royal blue Roksanda Ilincic gown. The color of the gown complemented her skin tone and her retro up-do finished her sophisticated look. Go girl!

Dianna Agron wasn’t the only Glee starlet that was looking hot at the Emmys! Lea Michele looked sizzlin’ hot in her bright red Marchesa gown with a scoop in the back. She definitely brought sexy back!

D.R.A.B.

As a big fan of Drew Barrymore, I’m sorry to say that Drew was 100% drab. In fact, she wore the most hideous dress at this year’s Emmy! Drew always looks young and original, but she traded in her trademark style for shabby chic that was just plain shabby. Her ugly turtleneck, low-belted dress with a fringe skirt bottom was a hot mess. Even she knew it wasn’t a good idea to walk the Red Carpet! Drew just presented in her hot mess of a frock.

Julianna Margulies, the star of The Good Wife, looked terrible last night in her white swiss cheese inspired strapless dress. Is it me or did Julianna’s washed out gown appear to be squeezing the life out of her? Julianna admitted that she didn’t put too much thought into her dress. “I found the dress last night at 9 p.m.,” she said. Next time, plan ahead Julianna! Yikes!!!

Christina Hendricks was far from smokin’ in her silver beaded Johanna Johnson gown. The deep-cut neckline didn’t say Va-va-voom. It said cheap. Hold the girls back, Christina and leave something to the imagination. Also, watch the deep slits; they should be tasteful. Hendricks was quoted as saying this about her sweet tart dress: “I thought it was so beautiful. It was the only dress I tried on.” Perhaps Hendricks should have tried on at least one more before making a decision.

I know Lena Headey is on Game of Thrones, but is it really necessary for her to dress like she’s from the medieval times? Her gown was dark and boring. It had no spark or “WOW” factor.

Instead of looking like a guest at the 2011 Emmy Awards, New Girl star Zooey Deschannel, looked like she was going to a 1960s prom with her bouffant hairdo and full-skirted dress. I wasn’t impressed by her retro look. Bring me back to the new millennium, please!

OMG, Not All My Children!

I can’t believe that ABC is cutting All My Children loose. It’s not that I am a big fan, but AMC has been a big part of American pop culture for so long. It has been the most popular soap over its 42 year span. When I was younger, my Grandma Jackie introduced me to AMC. Every time she would babysit me and my younger siblings, we would watch a soap marathon from AMC to GH (General Hospital). Names like Erica Cane, Luke, and Laura have become so familiar to me. Susan Lucci, who plays Erica Kane on AMC, has been on the show since 1970, the year my mom was born! Could this move by ABC mean that this is the end of the soap opera dynasty? Well, not exactly!

AMC has been picked up by Prospect Park, which will be producing new episodes online by early next year. Susan Lucci is not certain if she will be part of the cast for this new online version of AMC, and I’m not certain if this show will be as popular on the internet. But one thing is for sure– my Grandma Jackie, who isn’t tech savvy, will have to call me to hook her up to AMC online. Poor me and the rest of the kids who will assisting their grandmas! The last episode of AMC will air on September 23rd.
